As we head further south we drive past Corfu’s international Golf Club and Theotokis winery to reach Ermones beach. As local legend would have it is somewhere along the west coast that Homer’s hero Odysseus gets washed ashore only to be found by the princess Nausika. The west coast offers visitors a number of Blue Flag beaches. Glyfada is the all-time favourite stretch of golden sand with crystal clear aquamarine waters. It is the perfect beach to kick off your shoes and take a swim from. Showers are available and an afternoon Greek coffee goes without saying before getting on the bus for the return journey. The excursion will end outside the main entrance of the Port, exactly where your West Coast tour started.
